Pink Floyd: Their Mortal Remains the published volume commemorating the international retrospective of Pink Floyd at the V&A Museum in London. Within a team of designers at Barnbrook I did the art direction of the exhibition catalogue; the typographic influence comes from the 1960's British typography; from its bombsites, empty mansions and squats of 1946 to the smarter milieux of the 1960s, reconstruction of the British society was formatted in the Swiss Style of minimal typography, associated with high Modernism and a whole set of social democratic ambitions. This was the era when the British developed a viable national music industry and Pink Floyd were formed as a band.

To express the philosophy and existential themes of Pink Floyd such as conflict, greed, time, fear, death and insanity, -the theme of 'The Dark Side of the Moon'- black is used throughout the book. With the minimal typographic layout and the usage of black the design stands back. All A’s in the headlines become the iconic triangle prism.

The cover echoes the exhibition title; the prism is shattered once the book is opened, representing destruction, the end, finality.  The endpapers with psychedelic grey marble patterns are the reminiscent of the bands psychedelic background.
